WYOMING COUNTY/WASTE MANAGEMENT  SOLID WASTE COLLECTION GUIDELINES   COLLECTION DAYS
Thursday - 
Town of Orangeville

  • HOLIDAY COLLECTION SCHEDULE: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.  If your collection day is on or follows any of these holidays during that week, your collection will be one day later. If the holiday falls on a Saturday/Sunday, the collection day will be normal.     Ex. 4th of July is on Sunday, the week collection will be normal.

FOR COLLECTION: Place garbage and recyclables at the roadside, within 5 feet of the road, BEFORE 6:00 A.M. ON YOUR PICK-UP DAY.  If you have a ditch in front of your property, place garbage and recyclables between the road and the ditch.  Garbage and recyclables will be collected on the same day, possibly in separate trucks and at different times during the day.
RECYCLING:  Place all materials inside your recycling totes.  On the opposite side of this sheet you will find your recycling guide.  All recyclables can be placed out bi-weekly on the same day as trash pick up.
GARBAGE:
Normal residential solid waste including garden and yard waste, ashes (cold ashes only), plaster, stone, brick and building materials will be picked up weekly.  Place garbage in the totes provided by WM. Limit of 60 pounds per container or bag.  Securely tie bundles of brush and building materials in lengths no longer than 4 feet and within a 60 pound limit. Any garbage which does not fit into totes will need a sticker and placed next to the totes.  Stickers are available for $5.00 and can be purchased at the Orangeville Town Hall, Bennington Hall, Village of Perry Hall, or V/Warsaw Hall or the Planning & Development office at 36 Center Street, Suite C, Warsaw, NY.
DO NOT INCLUDE: tires, pesticides, oils, solvents, flammable liquids, explosives, animal carcasses, fecal matter, industrial waste, fluorescent bulbs and other regulated hazardous waste or building materials left by a contractor.
LARGE ITEMS: A large item is anything that cannot be placed in totes
UP TO THREE (3) LARGE ITEM WILL BE PICKED UP THE LAST WEEK OF THE MONTH AT ROADSIDE. These items shall include, but are not limited to: furniture, mattresses and box springs (which counts as 1 item), carpets, appliances, Christmas trees and homeowner’s construction demolition debris less than 60 lbs. Extra bags are not considered a bulk item.
PLEASE NOTE: All appliance units containing CFC gases (Freon) must have a verification sticker attached to the unit showing proper removal of gas or they will not be picked up. 
Waste Management will not pick upelectronics (television, computers, printers, etc.).  You will have to call GLOW to obtain information of drop off location.  The GLOW Region Solid Waste Management holds an annual Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection day, please contact GLOW at 1-800-836-1154 to make an appointment.  In addition, most retails stores, ARC, Volunteer of America can also be a drop off point.
HOW TO GET A RECYCLING BIN:  Contact Waste Management at the number shown below.  You may need to make payment to Waste Management for each bin purchased. For any problems with your collection, questions or concerns, call Waste Management Customer Care Center at 1-800-333-6590 from 9am - 5pm Monday through Friday.
